La Prairie Étoilée is a place to step away from everyday life and settle into a slower pace.

Hidden among peaceful meadows in rural central France, our small adults-only retreat has just three spacious, individually furnished glamping tents. There are no crowded pitches or organised activities—just room to breathe, time to reconnect and the freedom to let each day unfold without too much of a plan.

Wake in a king-size bed to the sounds of the meadow. Make coffee in your private summer kitchen and linger over breakfast beneath the trees. Read in a hammock, cool off in the pool or set out together on one of our tandems. Trails for walking & cycling straight from the gate, or hop in the car to spend a day at one of many lakeside beaches, browse a local market or discover the area’s villages, gardens and châteaux. If the weather changes, light the wood burner, reach for a book and enjoy having nowhere else to be.

Evenings are particularly special. Pour something cold, watch the sun disappear behind the meadow and cook outside on the plancha or over the campfire. Stay out as the sky darkens and the stars begin to appear; with very little light pollution, clear nights here can be extraordinary.

Good food is an important part of the experience, with as much or as little effort from you as you choose. Our hampers bring a little convenient luxury directly to your tent, from leisurely breakfasts to picnics and easy barbecues beneath the stars.

Our Slow Start package takes care of your arrival with a four-course picnic on your first evening and breakfast the following morning. For guests who would like us to take care of more, our Effortless packages can cover a whole weekend or be tailored to create a longer bespoke escape. Seasonal table d’hôtes evenings are also held in the dining barn, bringing guests together over an apéritif, chef prepared dinner and local wines.

Our Magical Extras offer more ways to make your stay your own. Reserve a private session in the Wild Spa’s two wood-fired roll-top baths, arrange for chilled champagne to be waiting, add a bread-making kit for a slow activity or book a workshop with a local artisan.

Each tent has its own private bathroom in our purpose-built bathhouse, along with a covered and well equipped summer kitchen, dining area, outdoor seating and plenty of private space. The accommodation is gently off-grid, with solar lighting and rechargeable USB packs rather than mains electricity at the tents. There is no Wi-Fi by design, although 4G is generally available.

La Prairie Étoilée is for couples and solo travelers who value peace, nature, good food and unhurried days. Come to explore, rest properly or rediscover the pleasure of having no plans at all.
